  Your Community Leadership

Citizens meet with Alabama Attorney General Troy King
Chamber members meet with local law enforcement

CrimeStoppers is a community-based organization of concerned citizens who work with law enforcement to provide information useful in the capture of criminals.

Since law enforcement is limited to the number of officers on the street any given time -- it becomes essential for citizens to take notice and report crimes they witness.

Understanding that some people may not want to reveal themselves, the CrimeStoppers program makes it easy to anonymously report information and help reduce crime in our neighborhoods.

When someone calls CrimeStoppers, they will be asked questions pertaining to the crime given a caller number. The number is used to call back at a designated time to find our if law enforcement was able to act on the report and arrest a suspect. The person may then be able to collect a reward - If one has been offered. Again callers are only known by a number and arrangements are made for you pick up your reward without anyone knowing who made the report.

All persons working with the CrimeStoppers program sign a confidentially statement stating they will not reveal any information concerning the crimes or identity of the reporting citizens. Other programs within the scope of Crimestoppers involve programs with businesses and schools.
